After launching the revolutionary DSLR cameras Nikon D5 and Nikon D500, as well as the new class of lenses (whose first representatives are the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G and Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR), Nikon released new firmware versions (1.01) for its celebrated DSLRs Nikon D5300 and Nikon D5500 - primarily due to the said lenses.

The new firmware, version 1.01, will fix a couple of bugs that have to do with exposure, and more importantly, thanks to it, both Nikon D5300 and Nikon D5500 will get support for the new AF-P lenses, which are equipped with a stepper motor. What is more, the Custom Setting Menu in the D5500 will now feature an a5 Manual focus ring in the AF mode, which can be activated or deactivated when the said lenses are mounted.
