One whole year after introducing the Nikon 1 J4, Nikon broadens its Nikon 1 series and brings a successor - the superb Nikon 1 J5. This is yet another launching on Nikon's part this year, after announcing the exceptional Nikon D7200, Nikon D810A, Nikon D5500, and numerous Coolpix models.
The new MILC from the J-series, Nikon J5, offers a traditional shape and design with two control dials. It is equipped with a powerful 1"-type 20.8MP CX-format BSI CMOS sensor, which brings an increase in resolution in relation to its predecessor, Nikon 1 J4. Thanks to its strong EXPEED 5A processor, the J5 brings speed that will take your breath away, with astonishing 20 fps continuous shooting and a hybrid AF system with 171 points, 105 of which are phase-detect points.
What is revolutionary when it comes to this pocketable mirrorless camera, and the entire Nikon 1 series for that matter, is the fact that the Nikon J5 brings magnificent 4K video (3840 x 2160) at 15 fps! For those who wish to slow down the world around them, there is a slow motion option in HD (1280 x 720) at 120 fps.
The preview takes place via a tilt 3" 1,037,000-dot TFT LCD screen with a 180-degree tilt. The Nikon J5 also features built-in Wi-Fi with NFC, so you can easily connect it to your compatible smart device, and share your images and videos online with your friends.
The Nikon 1 J5 will come up for sale at the end of this month, and it will be available in combination with a couple of lenses:
- with the 1 Nikkor 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 VR PD-Zoom lens, at a price of $499.95;
