The company GoPro launched a new series of Hero action cameras, Hero4, whose performances exceed all the previous models. The Hero4 will be available in two versions – the GoPro Hero4 Black, which will govern this series, and the GoPro Hero4 Silver. This series will be accompanied by a tremendous entry-level action camera with a simple label GoPro Hero.
The Hero4 Black offers further possibilities in relation to its predecessor, GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition, and it is characterized by fantastic 4K video recording at 30 fps, 2.7K video at 50 fps and Full HD video at astounding 120 fps, which results in slow motion videos that simply take your breath away. What is also important for the 4K resolution is the fact that it displays the ability to extract 8.3MP still images from video recordings. Furthermore, the Hero4 Black boasts improved audio capabilities, higher image quality, as well as brilliant superb performances in low light.
When it comes to the Hero4 Silver, its video performances are somewhat weaker (2.7 video at 30 fps, Full HD at 60 fps, and HD at 120 fps), yet still remarkable for video standards. It is equipped with an exceptional display sensitive to touch.
Both of these versions capture 12MP images, with the continuous shooting at 30 fps. According to GoPro, Wi-Fi has been upgraded in both of these models as well.
As for the entry-level camera Hero, it is produced with simplicity in order to encompass all the necessary performances and enable their use in the easiest way, for those who encounter GoPro products for the first time. It is built directly into a robust, sealed, waterproof housing and it exhibits Full HD video at 30 fps, as well as HD video at 60 fps.
The Hero4 series will be available for sale on the official website of the GoPro company, as well as at select retailers, starting from October 5. The GoPro Hero4 Black will be priced at $499, while the GoPro Hero4 Silver will be available for $399. The GoPro Hero will also hit the stores at the same time as the Hero4 models, yet it will be much more affordable - $129.
