After launching the EOS Rebel SL1 to the American soil, Canon also introduced two wide-angle lenses - Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM and Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM. The former is an IS wide-angle zoom aimed at full-frame SLR cameras. This lens is characterized by a nine-blade circular aperture, as well as the IS system which offers 4 stops of shake reduction in accordance with the CIPA standards. The latter is a wide-angle zoom intended for APS-C SLR models.
The 10-18mm lens smaller in size, lighter in weight and cheaper in price than the existing 10-22mm lens; what is more, its stepper motor provides fast and silent focusing while recording video.
The two said lenses will have arrived in stores by the end of June, priced at $1199 and $299, respectively.
The news was taken from CANON.
