Canon's external GPS receiver GP-E2 received firmware update, Version 2.0.0, which brought it support for the new DSLRs Canon EOS 5DS, Canon EOS 5DS R, Canon EOS Rebel T6i (EOS 750D), and Canon EOS Rebel T6s (EOS 760D), which were announced in February. This improvement will also remove certain bugs that have to do with the signal acquisition indicator light and the receiver's built-in memory.
Namely, in rare cases, it happened that the signal acquisition indicator on the GPS Receiver GP-E2 displayed the message "Slow blinking (Signal acquired)", even though no signal had been acquired previously. Furthermore, there were cases when new log files could not be properly saved if the device's built-in memory was full. With this firmware update, such problems will no longer trouble users.
The new firmware version is aimed only at the GPS Receiver GP-E2 with firmware up to Version 1.0.9.
The firmware Version 2.0.0 for the external Canon GPS Receiver GP-E2 is already available, and it can be downloaded from Canon's official website.
